As an ordained minister, like his father Tilemann, Georg Friedrich Cilling was responsible for the baptisms, weddings, and funerals of his parishioners. In this regard in 1631 a funerial book was published on the death of Dorotheae Sibyllae, Freyin Schenckin to which Cilling’s name was attached as the officiating minister. The title of the book was: Aristolochia Paulina, Das ist: Christliche Trost- unnd Leichpredigt … Bey … Leichbestattung der … Dorotheae Sibyllae, Freyin Schenckin zu Tautenburg …, Geborner Reussin …, welche den 25. THE TILEMANN FAMILY

Agnes Cilling who married Heinrich Tilemann (1607 – 1683) had at least five sons: Paul Heinrich (1656 – 1682), Burchard Heinrich, Johann Philipp, Christian Heinrich, and Christian Georg.

In his role of pastor and theologian Heinrich Tilemann authored a number of books. For instance, when the wife of Ernest Tentzel, Elizabeth (geb Bonner) died in 1669, he officiated at her funeral and his sermon was published under the title: Heilsamer Rath In Todesnöthen nützlich zu gebrauchen Bey Volckreicher Leich-Bestattung Der … Frauen Elisabeth geborner Bonnerin/ Des … Hrn. Ernest Tenzels …

Heinrich Tilemann also published:, Speculum perfeclionis und legenda trium sociorum. Ein Beitrag zur Quellenkritik der Geschichte des hi. Franz v. Assisi. Diss. Leipzig.

When Heinrich Tilemann died a funeral book was published: Christus Jesu das Heyl Gottes … in which he is described as “… highly ordained superintendent and pastor in Franckenhausen … “

Below, we show some of the legal and philosophical works produced by Heinrich and Agnes (Cilling) Tilemann’s sons. Some of them interacted quite extensively with Georg Adam Struve to produce co-authored works which are also shown. So far we have been unable to determine whether or not any of the sons married and had children. If they did not, as it would appear, this may account for why we lack so much about them other than what is left to us by the bibliographic record.
