Friedrich Gotthold Struve (1742 – 1813) was the son of Ernst Gotthold Struve (1714 – 1743) and Charlotte Magdalena Struve (1717 – 1759). He married Christina Charlotte von Schele (1746 – 1817). Fredrich Gotthold’s brother was Ernst Friedrich Struve.
Christina Charlotte’s mother was Hedwig Margarethe von Manteuffel verw. Ebers (ca. 1712 – ) who married Christoph Ludolph von Schele.
The children of Friedrich Gotthold and Christina Charlotte were:
- Christina Dorothea Struve born on 24 Sep 1778. She married Joachim Hinrich Engel
- Friederike Christi(a)ne Struve born on 26 Aug 1783 at Oldenburg / Wagrien
- Carl Friedrich Gotthold Struve born on 14 Mar 1785. He married on 22 May 1815 Luise Friederike Frese Marne. Carl died on 6 Aug 1835 Glückstadt. (See the bottom of this page)
- Christoph Johann Friedrich August Struve born on 8 Dec 1786 at Oldenburg / Wagrien
- Caspar Paul Friedrich Ernst Struve born on 14 Mar 1791. He married on 24 Apr 1822 Wiebke Margarete Peters. He and his descendants emigrated to the United States.
Friedrich Gotthold and his brother Ernest Friedrich appear on the title page of: Ordinis Medici (below) along with their uncle Friedrich Christian.
In 1766 he defended his medical dissertation: Dispvtatio Inavgvralis Medica De Haemorrhagii
When his father died in 1743 a funeral book was published: Prorector Et Senatus Academiae Holsaticae, Monumentum Funebre … Ernesto Gottholdo Struvi , and Friedrich Gotthold was one of the contributors:
Carl Friedrich Gotthold Struve (1785 – 1835) was the son Friedrich Gotthold Struve and Christina Charlotte von Schele. He married Luise Friederike Frese (1794 – 1824) on 22 May 1815 and they had several children including one daughter, Wilhelmine Charlotte Struve (1 September 1817 – 1 January 1894), who on 17 July 1834 married Hinrich Schütt. Hinrich was born on 25 June 1810 and died on 1 Apr 1873 (aged 62) and was buried at Alter Friedhoff in Burg, Dithmarschen, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany as was his wife Wilhelmine. Hinrich and Wilhelmine had twelve children.
Carl Friedrich Gotthold Struve may have been the author of several books but we cannot be sure that this CFS is the same as “our” CFS.
