Friedrich / Frederick Christian Struve was the son Ernst Gotthold Struve (13.03.1679 – 10.01.1759) and Dorothea Elisabeth Struve (geb. Berchelmann).

He was the nephew of Friedrich Gottlieb Struve (12.11.1676 – 23.07.1752). He was the uncle of Friedrich Gotthold Struve (1742 – 1813). His first cousin was the Three Loeck Sisters Nth Grandmother Dorothea.
In 1747 Friedrich / Frederick Christian Struve became extraordinary Professor of Medicine at the University of Keil. Apart from his academic writings, we know little about Friedrich Christian’s personal life. He married Christina Franck and they had one son: Karl Ernst Hieronymus Struve (see below).
He was a fairly prolific writer on various medical topics and what follows are some of the title pages of those works.
In 1739, Friedrich Christian’s medical dissertation was published: Dissertatio Inavgvralis Medica De Inediæ Noxa Atqve Vtilitate which also contained a contribution by Ernst Gotthold Struve
In 1740, An Piscina Bethesdæ Joh. V, 2 seqq. Calidis Aqvis Adnvmerari Qveat … and in 1747 he delivered an inaugural address: Oratio inauguralis de vanitate remediorum pretiosorum at Christian-Albertina University (now Kiel).

In 1773 Commentatio Botanico-Medica Sistens Vires Plantarvm Cryptogamicarvm Medicas …with reference to Frideric Johann Schwers. Friedrich Johannes Theophius Schwers and in 1774 Friedrich Christian along with Friedrich Johannes Gottlieb Schwers attached their names to: Disputatio Inauguralis Medica De Febribus Malignis
Who was Karl Ernst Hieronymous Struve? In the book Geschichte des Gymnasiums zu Prenslau von 1543-1893: …there is the following passgae “Conducting mayor and city judge in this period was the Ukrainian higher judge Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Bende and after his death on February 21, 1773 the previous proconsul, the second or judicial mayor Viktor Wilhelm Stisser, who on November 8, 1773, received the title “Director” for distinction. After Stisser’s death on February 16, 1788, his successor in all offices and ancillary services at both the magistrate and the city court was the former proconsul and judicial commissioner Karl Ernst Hieronymus Struve, who had been with his elderly predecessor some time before. He had taken the position of city judge and held this post until his death on August 8, 1814.”
Karl Ernst Hieronymous Struve published Ueber den Mangel an Deutschen Rednern 1773 which references Friedrich Christian Struve. However he is not to be found on any genealogical database:
